WhatsApp introduces a new way to authenticate users. SMS messages with one-time passwords will now be replaced by flash calls.
According to Webetainfo, users will be able to log into WhatsApp using a flash call. Previously, authorization went through a one-time password, which was contained in an SMS message from the messenger.
Thus, to log in, users will need to allow the application to access calls. In this case, you do not need to answer the call – the application will do it on its own. However, there is a caveat – the new feature will not be available on IOS.
Earlier, WhatsApp updated its user agreement in a number of countries. According to him, people using the messenger will automatically share data with Facebook, which owns it. As a result, Facebook will receive information about the phone number, transactions and IP addresses of users.
